HARTING Highlights at Hannover Messe 2018

One of the world’s largest trade fairs held at Hanover in Germany – the Hannover Messe – is held every year since 1947, with 6500 exhibitors taking part, and more than 2,50,000 people coming to visit the fair! This fair gives a complete picture of the industrial value-adding chain under a single roof, incorporating everything from individual components to the complete intelligent factory, along with topical trends like energy efficiency, lightweight construction, and additive manufacturing.

HARTING Highlights Hannover Messe

This year, the fair was held from 23rd to 27th April, wherein the HARTING Technology Group presented numerous products and solutions, each of which emphasized the importance of partnerships in the integrated industry, complying with the theme of the Hannover Messe, which was “Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate”.

Some of HARTING’s highlights at the trade fair

1) HARTING presented the eye-catcher of the show – Rinspeed’s concept car “Snap” – which is a passable electro-pod with interchangeable vehicle components, depending upon the applications and customer requirements. This revolutionary car is from Rinspeed, the Swiss car specialist, but it relies on the innovative HARTING technology, which provides fast charging technology to charge the car with electric current in a quick and environment-friendly way.

2) HARTING also extended its modular connector portfolio with new products manufactured based on the fast and secure PushPull locking system. These products have been constructed bearing in mind that connectors should be robust, powerful, and user-friendly. Along with a locking system, these products are also safe, fast, and simple to use. The new launch in this sector was HARTING’s PushPull V4 Industrial for the markets of industry and automation. Also, the M12 PushPull is particularly made for heavy requirements in the area of robotics and railways.

3) HARTING also showcased products and technologies for Ethernet communication, focusing on miniaturization, which is one of the main trends that describe the development in the Integrated Industry. Everything is becoming visually smaller in all sectors of industry and automation, with digitization making everything smarter too. Today, camera systems, sensors, and actuators have replaced traditional data lines and branched bus systems, ensuring that Ethernet quickly branches off to the farthest corners at the field level. HARTING has created a number of alternatives for known formats in the connector segment to provide device builders with the right interfaces for miniaturization. Miniaturization also applies to printed circuit boards, which is why HARTING’s M12 Magnetics offers up to 30% space savings and simplified trace routing, due to the smart integration of the transformer.

4) Another highlight was the Han configurator for industrial connectors, which allows machine designers to quickly connect all necessary information and decision-relevant data for the interface required. Only three parameters – number of contacts, required voltage, and amperage – need to be entered. The configurator will then develop proposals for suitable interfaces.

These were some of the highlights that HARTING helped to bring to the Hannover Messe fair this year. And, there is still a lot more to come in the future years!
